    On a wet Friday in April, Liberal Elementary School students met with authors and illustrators, Izzy B and Ben Askew. The pirates were promoting their book, “The Mighty McKraken”, which was a 2025-2026 Missouri Association of School Librarians - Show Me Reader Award nominee. The students learned a lot about puppets and the writing process including editing, editing and re-editing during the visit.
